Sometimes one can think too much. We know how agencies work, the so call intelligence services and their people, let us say agents, of all types, because there are many types of agents apart of mere informants.

You know, in not so long ago times, when postcards, letters and so, were the means of communication the system have it more difficult gthe job of spying, intercepting communications, supplant identities and all that stuff. Just only see what they did with the BPP sending false letters to people to create distrust and internal conflict. Or in other examples, when all the mail to some people was intercepted and falsely answered.

For all that, without going into phone tapping and so, they required technical means, many agents, and informants placed in key positions like within the mail system, phone companies.  And skills, because the people could realized that their letters had been open, the phones taped and so. 

All this, of course is not new: intelligence and counterintelligence. Unfortunately they made us naive or to thing that all is so change that we lower the guard. And of course they benefit for that.

Now is much easier: how you know that the email you send was not read? or you phone message? Of course they were, and depending of the individuals much more so. 

Key words, storage of data, all that goes throw satellites and so. The present day situation is that for communication there are less channels (channels and means are different, you can have a lot of alternatives but they go all throw the same channel) and is much more centralized and with it the information. Then the job of the intelligence services, or system agents, is more easy. Then, even some people can imagine and think  that maybe they have set up a facebook page or blog and really is a dead end. As with that examples of mail that never reach its destination.
