Thoughts and analysis about Albania, Serbia and Kosovo...and some general stuff

Albania was one of the Nations (world wide) were Socialism resisted longer. And was kind of Albanian Socialism if you wish. This Socialism was founded in Communist theory and principles, in the Stalin line, as the Albanian Socialist Republic was born after the struggle of National Liberation against the fascist occupiers. A heroic fight against Germanic-latin invaders, namely Italians and Germans was the prelude of gaining  National Independence and Social Freedom.  But despite the deep Communist outlook and shape of the Republic they held deep to their National identity, values and interests, as should be. They were internationalist in the real sense of the word.  If you are internationalist but you don’t start with been nationalist of your own nation (not “state” or “country”, talking about multinational states) then you are something else. Then you have defend and keep the national identity, the national basic ways of life (of course with the possibility of adding some new features, but as history shows what can  happen is that the "new ways", "modernity" and so, and precisely since the second part of XX century, can get out of hand and become a cancer that eat the rest and the previous culture, ways and so destroying the host people and  nation), the national character, history, music, arts…

They were close to the USSR till it became revisionist and worse even. After the murder of Stalin, with the new leadership and all they started doing. We have to remember that  Khrushchev was a Trotskyist, that had to bury his ideology till he reach power. As we saw, he did critize the cult of personality of Stalin, of what himself was one of the biggest pushers and then when in power,  he did behave and wanted to be treated as a king. A human disgrace anyway, the ucranian. That by the way, he used Stalin beloved wife, to go close to him and to, as himself recognize, have a safe pass.

The main leader of the Albanian Liberation was Enver Hoxha. He was an open and recognized admirer of Stalin, and rightly so. The relation between themselves a relation between comrades and was very good. In general, till some time after Stalin murder the relation between States was good as well. The new soviet leadership didn’t like neither the Albanians as Albanians, nor their National pride and political line. At some point this became so bad that the Albanian, despite their size and other things, broke with the USSR and denounce them, again rightly so.

After, in the world stage, the Chinese socialist revolution, headed by Mao, took a prominent position.  The relation between the USSR and socialist China were always  uneasy, with up and downs. Anyway, at one point after the killing of Stalin, China with Mao as the leader, did seem that was going to take the torch of real Socialism and keep the flame true and alive. It turned quite fast the other way.

Yes, here we have to take in account the difference of national characters, of national views idiosyncrasy and even, or of course,  States interests. But there are general issues, ideological points that are not related to this, that are as the word says, general, and can’t be excused by the above said.

Albania, before the turn of China away of true and honest Socialism, establise relations with this new powerful  State.  But, as said, they turned away and start trying to became  a  de facto Empire or World Super Power, in opposition of a true, real and humble Socialist State were the People lives as should and, apart of their national identity of course, under some basic socialist principles.The had been successful. And the global elites had benefit with it in the process by the way.

The ruling classes disguised under whatever color (and is not the same been part of the state, the administration , that been ruling class or their pawn. You can be a leader but not think of yourself like above the people, as some kind of a king) ,  are always, for the former - empire- not the later - true freedom, national ways and natural life.

At one point, been the Chinese invitation to Nixon mainly,  Albania, loyal to true Socialist positions, had to cut ties with the Chinese and denounce their turning away of socialist positions.

The relation between Albania and Yugoeslavia is well known. They were one of the first and for sure one of the hardest critics of brit-friendly Tito and their reformist and revisionist positions.  Apart Albanian-Serbian relations go deep in history, been the Serbs an expansive power in the region.
Is the opinion of this writer that, of all Mediterranean regions and  nations –not talking of the African side- , the Albanian nation is, for sure the one  more liked.

And it seems that historically Albania has not been so empire-minded, so expansive  as so many others, and had suffer a lot of oppression in their history. And in the recent history, with their Socialist Republic, are to be applaud. And finally, with the Kosovo question the positions is surprisingly clear. And this actual clarity means a change in the writer's mind, because, it was not at all clear till some time ago.  The Kosovo question is famous because it spark the war, the aggression, of NATO against Serbia. As it was so clear this it cloud the reality in the Kosovo question itself, the national question. The modern UCK, was without doubt, for sure more clear to the outsiders, that to kosovars and Albanian in general, a pawn of the aggressors. Of course the Serbian position was predetermined, and as much they can throw against the kosovars the better. And this was one of the things. But Kosovars fighting to return to Albania is nothing new. Kosovo was and is Albania and it was conquer by the Serbs some centuries ago.  By the way, under the Socialist Republic the main part of Albania  was supportive of the aspirations of the majority of kosovars. The more legenday fighters are not from the last conflict, the one when the were basically US-European pawns. Then, and this is a good example of manipulation, and how can historical and good causes been manipulated. The right position here is that Kosovo is part of Albania, in all senses. Then the Serbs are in the wrong. But then NATO manipulated, taken control of the UCK (the leadership has not name of how the behave even against fellow albanians and kosovars), making some good people join their ranks for sure cheating them.  They use the desire for freedom of the kosovars for their purpose, and then start the corruption.  In the international sphere is more like a criminal cartel. Then they use the legitimate Kosovo question for their agenda and interests. NATO attack Serbia, they put US bases in Kosovo, the use the UCK for their criminal purposes…and in the end…Kosovo, ok, is not under Serbian control, but the people there does not live as they wish, corruptions and drug running is sky high…and they have not return to Albania.  The Kosovars didn't get what they wanted. Only a small criminal group. But they put the effort, the sacrifice, the battlefield.
