"The Gibraltar Trap"?

When we, whoever, talks, about some issues (historical and political with painful and bloody repercussions to people and nations) we have to do it carefully and respectfully.

Here maybe more than in anything else, the respect have to be for the Truth. After, to the memory of the martyrs, innocent victims and so. And finally, in this order, to the relatives of them.

Science? Here a little: if someone had been betrayed and suffer for that, thinking that was not going to happen and believing in what they were doing, sure, wherever they are, they will want that Truth expose: that they were cheated and betrayed. And the, the duty of some of us, the ones, whoever, that have respect for Life and the fight and sacrifice of others for good causes (of course) and freedom, been of Erin of Cantabria. And the duty is to confront lie and treason, and of course unmask liars and traitors. And by the way, without this what lessons can we expect? What king of learning derives from lies, half-truths, egoistical manipulation and makeup to try to make oneself and the parties one supports better looking. Ugly or not Truth always

To the point here, and again form the deeper respect for the sacrifice of the three Irish Soldiers that were cowardly murder. This is for them. And as well, respect for the people that really loved them, relatives, family.

One of the worse things is to gain from the misery, the pain, the sacrifice of other for you own gain and having a different agenda that the source you are benefiting from. Treason is worse, but not much more worse than this.

Let us analyse here. Gibraltar. We all know its location, in the mouth of the Mediterranean Sea (the sea of the Latins, be them Romans,and later Spaniards, Catalans, Italians, and others). Strategic for naval (and of course military) purposes.

Now to the points. Speaking here generally, so forgive any language mistakes. The IRA through their Unit of three Volunteers were there in theory to carry out an operation, or maybe for intelligence purposes. Anyway, There they were. And this adds to the values of the three Irish Republican Soldiers, two Irishmen and one Irishwoman.

To go into Gibaltrar you have only one road entrance, and is nearly impossible to do it form the sea, or possible but with the same level of police and military control. But before that you have to go across the Spanish state, more or less distance, but you have to go across the Spanish state (with their check point prior to the brit one)if you are coming not directly to Gibraltar.

Appearances appearances are. Sometimes they have something in common with the reality. Appearances like now with the EU trying to portrait itself pro-Irish. Yes, of course after they rapped and looted the country. Short memories in Ireland? Yeah, thing had change a lot unfortunately, and for the Irish themselves first of all. Appearance like the Basque and their friendship with the Irish. In Ireland is not properly appreciated the historical connections, at every level, the rulling classes, the working classes, left, right, abertzales of all kinds, with England and Britain.  The British SAS and intelligence services –with the Israelies by the way- played a basic and key role in the formation of the basque security and political apparatus in the autonomous region (that by the way, of course with different features because the close realtion between basques and castillian in Spain, is the same status as Cantabria). Not only that, for example, Kortatu, a reference in radical music copy and develop from English and London examples. Don’t be mistaken, for a basque, more important was London than Dublin, always was like that. Before continuing the question here is, because the friendship of basques and irish republicans, how much information did reach the brits? More than we suspect and think for sure.

Anyway, the Spanish police and the british security services are in the same side. They cooperate much more than they think really. A enemy of Britain is not a friend of Spain. Then going across Spain means, basically, going more less trough enemy territory. The Spanish Political and Secret Police is more wide and active than is though outside Spanish State. Any Irish Republican activity, political, military or whatever, will be something that will set active their alarms, and this will means working themselves and contacting the British. What to say if is close to Gibraltar.

All this means that, in theory and looking at every aspect, a mission (of any kind) there was suicidal. Again, this adds value to the Three Martyrs.

Then the question. Why a mission in Gibraltar? Probing that the IRA can hit there as well? Fair enough, but then, not approaching the mission as suicidal would be naïve or stupid. Thinking that someone thought the opposite is hard to believe. Organizing this and not thinking that will mean the nearly 100% sure sacrifice of the Volunteers (capture or as it turn out) is impossible. Really. A basic analysis prove it. Stupidity or worse.

Or, ok, a last option,  such  underestimation of British capabilities, the Spanish reality (explain here before) and the whole situation that means that the people responsible, if honest, should have been expelled (if lacks the honesty to resign) and because they didn’t require the basic mental qualities to such important positions and things.  

The situation and condition of Gibraltar is so peculiar than to gain a general view of it, you don’t have to go there. Is pretty know that the inhabitants, not many, are really pro-British. Without taking in account all the policemen, military personnel and families living there. That three Irish like the three Volunteers will go unnoticed is putting all the eggs in fortunes basket. Again, scientifically hard to believe in an environment like that will be the case. And for sure, when you are talking about the fate of three Irish Republican Volunteers for sure you will try to let as little as possible in the hands the Goddess Fortune.

Then after all this, we go to the three brave Volunteers themselves. Iconic, valuable, fighters, symbols, really capable. There is a video of Provo member that went to take the bodies talking about the qualities of them. They were high capital for the IRA and the Irish Republican Movement.

Here, only to say, like in Loughgall Ambush (or trap) a high blow in personnel to the IRA and the Irish Republican Movement. And the moral of the bases.

With the Gibaltrar 3 the same. If you look in cold light everything seems like someone send them to die there. Not in the courseof action. No. To be murder in a trap.
