In Erin, above the Irish People is Erin; in Cantabria above the Cantabrian People is Cantabria; in Albania, above the Albanian People is Albania; Australia (actually the original-aboriginal name that would be), above the Australian People is Australia and on and on.
The Lands, the Native Nations are above us, above ALL of us. That's McT N philosophy anyway.
The Motherland is sacred.
She give us everything. She gave our ancestors everything...That one of the reasons she, they, should be respected and defended. They are above us.
Like other things, that are above the individuals.
McT N would say that for example the Nations and the public situation; the People's right and duties to be balanced; to have liberties; of course a natural and human society where the individuals are...All this McT N will argue are more important that our egos, our narrow interests and individual interests (that McT N is not saying are not important) our selfishness.
Things above individuals like Truth. Because Truth, as a basic level of honesty is a must in every society, to have a little bit of health, from a human and societal point of view. Like criticism and self-criticism. We need that. This days some people that criticize a lot, and rightly so, seems they don't want to be criticize. But that not the way. Not the a good one anyway. It was said a long time a go that Truth is revolutionary. McT N asks: if you don't like truths, can you be really a revolutionary? Or the National heritage, culture and History: things that individuals should preserve. Like, you can want to biuld a house but you are not going to destroy this historical site. That's a example of somethings above the individual, whoever he or she is, and the individual sphere. And things like this.
