With all the respects to everyone that deserves it two things.
Having a catholic mass in a mass grave of the dead in the Irish genocide can be seen as a little too far? we have to realise the power of the Church in Ireland at that time. They saw that happening at the best, without doing nothing. They have a role, as all actors in the crime. Would be hard, but is a fact. And hard facts should be tackle. And this is about the memory of the dead and seeking true justice.
But let take this aside. Ok, a mass by the catholic church (do you need always someone as and intermediary to pray to your God?), but IN LATIN!? This is with no doubt to much. The appropriate thing should do it in gaelic and if not in english.
Latin is an imperial language, a language love by the british elites. The Roman Empire was the first empire of evil in Human history just to remember. Seems far inappropriate.
The second issue is the letter send to the president of the 26 counties state wrote by some irish nationalist.
For what? Someone thinks really that he is antagonistic or even oppose to british desires? As said in this blog, ideological preparation is essential to try to avoid to make the same mistakes than in the past.
When you go to someone that is clearly not your ally to try to get support and help at the end you will really disillusioned and frustrated and from them down... And some, in the other hand by a sad chance or so, that want to really give a hand wont be listen or be helped to be able to help as happens sometimes.
