Age of some of the Cantabrian Victims after the fall of Cantabria, 9 and 81 years old.

This monolith marks a mass grave of victims.More than 1.000 bodies lie there. The plaque reads "To the dead for freedom"
Is in the  cemetery of Santander, Ciriego. This site  is only one mass grave of the many that are around the Cantabrian Nation.

A story related: one of the funerary companies at work  still now, and one that has been the main one for decades was granted a kind of monopoly in the sector for many years because the founder of it ...at the time of the conquest of the Cantabrian Country and the start of executions, when they were so many bodies that they had a problem to transport them and so... this individual invented a system to make it easier and faster. The reward? that he founded a company in one of the sectors of more activity for many years (apart of the normal and natural activity of this kind of companies) in the Cantabrian Nation, and not only that, they gave him a monopoly.

TWO NUMBER HERE TO SHOW HOW THE SPANISH TREATED THE CANTABRIAN PEOPLE IN THEIR NATIVE NATION:

9 AND 81.

The oldest person to be shooted has 81 years old. What a danger for so brave soldiers...
The youngest person to be put against the wall was a boy of 9!

That give a little window of the spanish repression suffered by the People of the Cantabrian Nation.
So was the case that they end alienating many right-wing people and even so fascist of the early hour, that they end complaining that the victors were behaving as conquerors in a conquered Nation.
And that was the case! The pity is that the so call left organizations and parties for many years did the opposite, and tried to hide (successfully unfortunately) this fact, they keep downgrading the scale of repression, lowering the numbers and to paint a spanish picture of the war in Cantabria ...

The first step been  the cover up of the treason suffered by the Cantabrian Army and cantabrian antifascists by the spanish official and spanish republic, and to help in this they say that is was all the fault of the cantabrian, that they very right-wing minded, that did not really want to fight, the credit for the battles that happened go to the not many foreign soldiers (like basques) that were present and so.

A disgrace of epic proportions. So much that saying that they are complicit with the fascist is no so far from the truth. They have manipulated the history to turn it left-spanish friendly and to be apt for modern consumption that is disgusting to say the least.
